1971 Honda SL350-K1 "MotorSport 350"

Before:

Restoration commenced on 01 March 2010 at 17,028 miles.

05 March 2010

The engine is near completely dismantled, and awaiting a valve spring compressor to arrive.

Transmission soaked in solvent and inspected for wear. All looks perfect!

Frame and swing arm are ready for powder coating aluminum color as Honda chose in 1971.

Forks are dismantled, and soaked in solvent. Next is powder coating the lowers and new seals.

08 March 2010

Here is the engine with every piece taken down, aside from the valves. The combustion chambers had some SERIOUS carbon buildup thanks to some smarty-pants who put the rings in with all the gaps aligned... A BIG NO-NO!!

The carbies are wrapped in the towel, as I rebuilt them ~150 miles ago.
